TREES AND SPIRITUAL WELL-BEING
Trees are sanctuaries. Whoever knows how to speak to them, whoever knows how to listen to them, can learn the truth. They do not preach learning and precepts, they preach, undeterred by particulars, the ancient law of life.

TREES ARE EXCEPTIONAL SPIRITUAL ROLE MODELS
Trees have played a role in elevating human consciousness and in assisting with the spiritual development of mankind for a very long time. Within the belief systems of indigenous cultures and in the sacred texts of all the major religions of the world, various types of trees and aspects of trees are used as symbols and metaphors to impart spiritual wisdom. Many spiritual masters are said to have experienced their moment of full enlightenment in the presence of a tree, and they often shared their wisdom with others when standing near a tree or in a grove of trees.
Trees embody and demonstrate spiritual keys to living a graceful, meaningful, compassionate, and highly conscious life. Trees stand tall in the face of adversity. Trees reach for the Light to create their sustenance. Trees work together to support each other and they contribute continuously to the well-being of others, even in death. According to the the World Wildlife Organization, forests are home to more than three-quarters of the world’s life on land and 1.6 billion people depend on forests for their livelihood. Factor in trees’ contribution to the water cycle, their carbon sequestration, their creation of life-essential oxygen for all of us to breathe, and it becomes clear that trees are the biggest contributors on Earth. This ‘leading by example’ is a common trait of all great spiritual teachers.
TREES ARE SPIRITUAL LADDERS TO ENLIGHTENMENT
Trees have existed on Earth for 370 million years. They are highly conscious, spiritually evolved beings. There are many physical attributes of trees that help induce readiness for spiritual experiences, including their fractal patterning, which stimulates alpha brainwaves and encourages wakeful relaxation, and the phytoncides that their bark and leaves emit, which soothe the nervous system and improve one’s ability to stay focused. But the most significant influence that trees have on human consciousness is their sheer presence and the radiant consciousness that they have already achieved. If you arrive with sincere intent, humility, and an entrainable heart, a wise old tree might be willing to let you hitch a ride to the stars.
TREES CAN INTRODUCE YOU TO OTHER REALMS
When you spend a lot of time in gardens and wooded areas, the stage is set for you to meet all kinds of delightful beings who are the behind-the-scenes caretakers for the Nature Kingdom. These beings are invisible to most humans, but with a receptive mind and heart, and your focused engagement with the natural environment that surrounds you, some of these Intelligences of Nature might reveal themselves to you and may even be willing to talk with you. Trees often serve as interdimensional portals for these special agents of Creation, so start hanging out with more trees and you may one day meet some of these other characters.
